Can you buy cigarettes at Glastonbury Festival?

Ah, Glastonbury Festival. The mecca of music, arts, and culture. It’s the one time of year where you can let loose, dance, sing, and enjoy the company of like-minded individuals.

But, as much as we all love being at a festival, there’s one thing that always seems to dampen the experience for some of us – running out of cigarettes 🚬.

It’s easy to underestimate how many cigarettes or rolling tobacco to bring with you, and there’s always that one mate who bums off you every single time.

Can You Buy Cigarettes At Glastonbury?

So, can you buy cigarettes at Glastonbury Festival? The answer is a resounding yes! You’ll find cigarette vendors scattered throughout the festival grounds, making it easy for you to grab a pack or two to satisfy your cravings.

But, there is a catch. The prices will be a lot higher than you’d expect to pay in your average newsagent. Sadly, you have no choice but to pay the inflated prices.

Also, there will only be a limited selection of brands available, so if you’re fussy about your smokes then it’s better to bring a decent supply with you.

Where Are Cigarettes Sold At Glastonbury?

There will be a store selling tobacco and cigarettes in most of the main shopping areas of the festival. The area between West Holts and William’s Green has lots of general stores.

Look out for the stalls with signs saying “festival shop” or “general stores”.

The Co-Op (located in Park Home Ground) also sells cigarettes and tobacco. It’s open between 7am-3am so grab a pack when you’re passing.

Can You Smoke Anywhere In Glastonbury?

You might be thinking, “But wait, isn’t smoking banned at festivals?”

Well, you’re not entirely wrong. Most festivals have strict no-smoking policies within tented performance areas. Glastonbury is no different.

You’re free to smoke outdoors or in any of the open-air performance areas but you cannot smoke inside venues such as The John Peel Stage or The Circus Tent.

What About Vaping?

The same rules apply for vaping as they do for smoking. You can vape outdoors in the open-air areas (which is most of the festival) but you cannot use a vape in any of the tented areas as mentioned above.

Vapes and e-liquid are sold (in non-glass containers) by the same vendors selling tobacco. Expect to pay higher prices than on the standard high street.

Final Thoughts

Glastonbury is a place to be free and enjoy yourself without limits. If cigarettes form part of your enjoyment and you can afford the high prices – then don’t worry if you didn’t bring enough smokes with you – it’s easy to stock up inside!
