Updated for 2023!
If you’re wondering where to camp at this year’s Glastonbury Festival and you’re considering Paines Ground, keep reading to see whether it’s right for you!
Camping in Paines Ground
Paines Ground, located in the southwest of the Festival grounds. The easiest way to access this field is through Gate D, so make sure to head that way when you arrive.
Once you’re there, you’ll find yourself in the middle of Paines Ground – a massive field that’s perfect for those who want to experience the best of both worlds.
By day, you’ll be able to catch all the action at The Park Stage, and by night, you can head over to Arcadia and dance the night away.
But, just a heads up, the music from Arcadia can be pretty loud until the early hours, so there may be some noise coming over. However, it’s not too bad because the speakers face inwards, meaning that sound doesn’t travel ‘too’ far.
But if you like you can camp on the far west side to get some better sleep.
One of the best things about Paines Ground is its proximity to other exciting areas of the festival, like The Other Stage.
Generally, it is a perfect spot for those who want to be close to the action but still have a bit of peace and quiet.
Pros
- Great access if you park in Orange and are able to come through Gate D
- Close to Arcadia.
- More space nearby for camping starting in 2023 since the demise of Cineramageddon.
Cons
- It will fill up extremely quickly, don’t let it’s size fool you. This is a popular place!
- Depending on how fit you feel, some parts of the festival like other main stages will be a long walk, for example The Pyramid Stage is about 30 minutes away, depending on the crowds!
- Camping on the East side of Paines will bring you in range of Arcadia’s wrath. Expect noise and flames!
