Does The Co-Op At Glastonbury Sell Alcohol?
No, there is no alcohol sold at the Co-Op inside Glastonbury Festival. This is because there are plenty of bars on-site that sell drinks, and the supermarket license does not permit the sale of alcohol – only soft drinks.
However, you can bring in your own spirits to the festival (decanted from glass into a plastic bottle) and buy mixers at the Co-Op to save you having to carry in huge crates of beers and ciders.
The Co-Op is also present at Download Festival, where alcohol is sold at the supermarket, but sadly, not at Glastonbury. However, Glastonbury does have a pretty much unlimited bring-your-own-booze policy.
What Time Is The Co-Op Open in Glastonbury?
It usually open from 7am until 3am every day of the festival, except for Wednesday when it opens at 10am (2 hours after the gates).
However, these opening times were from 2019 and 2022 and may have changed for 2023.
Are There Big Queues To Get In?
There is usually a queue to get into the supermarket, which is in itself surprisingly large inside! However, the queue is fast-moving and never takes more than 10 minutes.
Are The Prices Inflated?
Expect to pay standard Co-Op prices for most of the goods there. Meal deals and other promotions also apply.
Our Final Thoughts
This is such a fantastic idea, to have a fully-stocked supermarket within a festival that’s open for 20 hours each day – it’s a no-brainer that this would be a popular idea.
