First up – Glastonbury is not like other festivals, the various different campsites do not have barriers between them and the arena/entertainment areas. Once you’re in through the main gates, you can pretty much explore everything inside the festival.
Camping in Darble Ground
The Darble campsite is located in the northwest area of the festival and is easily accessible through Gate A.
It’s easily accessible because as soon as you enter through Gate A, you’ll find Darble right in front of you! It’s perfect for those of you who want to set up camp as soon as you arrive.
The Pyramid Stage is just a quick 15-minute walk away.
Darble is an excellent choice for those who arrived via coach or bicycle, as the reserved bicycle camp is immediately North of Darble.
However, keep in mind that it’s further away from nightlife areas and it may be busy due to the high foot traffic.
If you’re looking for a spot that’s easy to get to and perfect for those arriving by public transport or bicycle, Darble is the spot for you.
Pros
- Flat ground, great for those who need a nice level place to lay their heads!
- Less likely to flood than other places further down the festival.
- Usually has some space for those arriving late.
- Great for those arriving by coach or bus.
Cons
- Darble is the furthest campsite from nightlife in the South East Corner, and some of the main stages.
- You will have a lot of foot traffic from Gate A especially on the first 2 days.
